If requested in advance, topical anesthetic or ice can be used to increase your comfort during your injections. Please allow extra time for topical anesthetic to take effect, which adds about 30 minutes to your total treatment time.Dr. Lee can apply her experience in functional medicine to help heal your skin issues from the inside out. Neuromodulators:
- Currently offered brands are Botox and Dysport, both versions of botulinum toxin A (BTX). Other brands include Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Daxxify.
- BTX works to soften and erase wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that create them. It technically does not lift or tighten but can be injected in specific areas to give that overall effect.
- Especially effective in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and for downturning at corners of mouth.
- Dr. Lee uses BTX to treat: wrinkles, jaw and TMJ pain, tension and migraine headaches, and muscle spasms and associated pain in the upper extremities and around the eyes, hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating of the hands, feet, and armpits. Cosmetically injected BTX can possibly help lessen refractory depression.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler:
- Currently offered brands are Restylane or Juvederm fillers.
- Provides actual volume with immediate effect right where it is injected.
- Useful anywhere volume is needed: in specific wrinkles, hollowed areas, and scars.
- Can inject hands.
- Dr. Lee uses HA fillers to treat: specific wrinkles, hollowed areas, scars, and areas of overall volume loss. It is the preferred treatment option for delicate or precision injections and the lips.
Sculptra:
- A biocompatible, biodegradable material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which stimulates the production of your own collagen over a period of 1-2 months.
- Injected in a series of 3 or more treatment sessions every 4-6 weeks.
- Results can last for two years or more. Follow up injections can maintain your results for even longer.
- Best treatment to restore global facial volume loss from aging or illness gradually and naturally.
- Dr. Lee uses Sculptra to treat: large areas of volume lost over many decades, injected over the temples, forehead, across the cheeks, chin, and jawline to diminish wrinkles and improve facial contour.
PRP/PRFM:
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and Platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) treatments use a patient’s own blood cells to recover collagen production and hair growth.
- Platelets release growth factors that stimulate cells in the skin and other tissues to increase cellular activity.
- Very safe treatment for anyone with concerns related to ingredients of other cosmetic injections.
- Subtle, natural results delivered over 2-3 injections 4 weeks apart. Can result in visible volume in areas with very thin skin, e.g. lower eyelids and lips.
